Here he poses with the first vehicle entrusted him. Interestingly, John almost didn't get a chance to ride this tricycle. He happened to catch Santa during the initial delivery, and demanded on the spot to know whether the vehicle met current federal guidelines for air pollution and crash-test safety.
John didn't quite understand Santa's reply. But after a new paint job, the tricycle was as good as new.
